Hannah enjoyed her lesson today with Mrs Jhones and the weather was great.

The Hermitage: 2014

Paul and Aaron had a blast with Emil at the hermitage. So many stories, so little space. Here's a snapshot:

Their sleeping spot each night

There was a lot of fishing for both boys (Benjamin and Paul) and Paul caught this massive catfish.

Paul also collected toads. I think he was up to nine or so in the bucket Emil gave him. He then took them to show one of the Amish boys who peered down from the buggy to inspect.

There is quite a story about this snapping turtle. It gave even Aaron and Emil a run for their money =)

Blast Off!

Aaron joined us at the pool today. That means the kids get seriously launched.

Eliz and Poppie in the canoe, Hannah, Kate and Nonnie on the paddle boat. Gorgeous evening! Then we enjoyed dinner and games on the back deck.

Canoe ride

Paul and I had a great Sat morning canoe ride and followed this big blue heron around the lake.

Paul was in heaven looking in all the nooks and crannies in this shallow cove. 

Sittin on the dock o' the bay

There is a dam/spillover on one side of Warren Lake that's a short bikeride away. We headed over for more fishing last night and caught a few fish.

Jr. Bash prep work

Up early today to get the fishing poles ready. Today is the Jr. Bash, a Rotary sponsored event where underprivileged kids get to go out and fish for a day as rotarians (and their kids) help out. The kids went last year and enjoyed it.

Uniforms came today for Kate and Hannah... School starts in 1 month! (And no, I did not prompt this pose, believe it or not.)

Vet visit

Tyche does not like the vet visits... but one more in late Aug and she will be fully vaccinated.
